One of America’s leading writers on the saints and Catholic culture such as The Faces of Holiness, Catholic Traditions In The Home And Classrooms: 365 Days To Celebrate A Catholic Year; How-to Book of Sacramentals: Everything You Need to Know but No One Ever Taught You; The Other Faces of Mary; Holy Infant Jesus; Catholic Traditions in Cooking. Her latest publication, Crafty Catholic Kids:  Great Activities for Family Fun

She also penned biographies of Church figures. Such examples are Modern Saints Vol. 1 & 2. The Merry Martyr of Mexico, of which served as a source for the script of "ˇViva Cristo Rey!" which Quo Vadis Theatre Company staged in 2006, and a recent biography of Archbishop John Noll.

 

Vaclav Havel

Playwright

 

The dissident playwright who led the "Velvet Revolution" in Czechoslovakia in the late 1980's and early '90's who later became the president of the Czech republic.

 

The most notable of his plays was "Pokušeni" (Temptation) which was a modern take on the Faust legend.  He often referred to the Communist state concept by coining the word  "Absurdistan." A few of his plays pointed out the absurdities of the totalitarian state.

He was awarded the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush.
